Yuxuan Zhao

Yuxuan Zhao is a recipient of a full scholarship and living-expenses scholarship from ABRSM. Studied at the Central Conservatory of Music, and Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in the UK, where he received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees with First-Class Honours. His principal teachers include Graham Scott, Head of Keyboard at RNCM, and pianists Bingbing Li, Kathryn Stott, and Misha Namirovsky. He is currently pursuing his doctoral degree at the University of North Texas, where he holds a full scholarship and a teaching fellowships

In 2020, Zhao ranked first in the piano category of the Liaoning Provincial Music Examination and second nationally in the entrance examination, gaining admission to both the Central Conservatory of Music and Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He also received scholarship offers from nine prestigious US music schools and three Royal Schools of Music in the UK.

As a soloist and concerto pianist, Zhao has performed with the Stockport, Burnley, Londonderry, Shrewsbury Symphony Orchestras and the RNCM Symphony Orchestra, performing works by Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, and Mozart Concertos. He was invited to perform at the Chinese Music Concert hosted by the Chinese Consulate General in Manchester.

As a pianist, he has given many concerts internationally in Newcastle, Liverpool, Durham, Chester, Buxton, and other cities, with performance venues including Stockport Town Hall, Theatre Royal Nottingham, Hjørring Music Hall in Denmark, St Columb’s Hall in Ireland, St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh, and The Stoller Hall in Manchester. He has also undertaken several concert tours throughout the UK.

As an educator, Zhao teaches Lessons "Piano Class" and "Keyboard Skills" at the University of North Texas. He previously taught piano at Alma Park Primary School in the UK. As a private teacher, he has taught many students preparing for ABRSM examinations, applying international music conservatories, as well as beginners and adult learners of diverse ages and levels.
